Joshua Williams, 40, of Lima, was arrested Thursday evening after deputies found him asleep at the wheel of a vehicle.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on County Road 5 just after 8:00 PM after a report of a white Ford SUV sitting in the driveway with damage to the front bumper.

When deputies arrived, they found Williams asleep in the driver’s seat.

After waking him, deputies immediately noticed several signs of impairment.

Williams told officers he was on his way to visit family in Lima and had come from Worthington.

He reportedly declined to perform field sobriety tests and had trouble standing on his own.

Williams admitted to drinking several glasses of bourbon earlier.

When deputies searched the vehicle, they found a two-thirds full bottle of bourbon on the passenger seat.

Williams was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to provide a breath sample.

He was cited for physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Officials say Williams remained cooperative and respectful throughout the incident.
