Three Bellefontaine Police Officers recently attended the 2025 Joint DARE and Ohio School Resource Officers Association Conference in Sandusky.
Officers Doug Walters, Isaac Chiles, and John Godwin took part in the three-day event, which focused on new strategies for keeping schools safe and building stronger connections with students.
The conference offered hands-on training, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities with SROs and DARE officers from across the state.
A major highlight: Officer Chiles was recognized for five years of dedicated service as a DARE instructor at Bellefontaine City Schools.
He received a service award during the event, celebrating his commitment to educating students and promoting safe, drug-free lifestyles.
Congrats to Officer Chiles — and thank you to all three officers for their continued work in our schools and community.
