Jenkins and McDaniel named Riverside Seniors of the Month

Riverside High School has announced its November Seniors of the Month, Grady Jenkins and Reaghan McDaniel.

 

Grady Jenkins is the son of Brad and Darcie Jenkins.

School activities & awards: 1st Team TRC Football, football captain, basketball, track, baseball, Student Council, Student United Way, 4-H, Logan County Grand Champion in Contesting with horses, State Fair Reserve Champion, FFA, Certificate of Excellence in Ag Business, Business Professionals of America state qualifier, Business Professionals of America Executive Torch award, Pirate Advisory Committee, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, LifeSmarts National qualification, Junior Class Officer, Honda Breakfast Program, Evening of Excellence for 3.5 + GPA, Homecoming Escort, church congregation

If I were principal for a day: Bring naptime back for high schoolers.

Favorite school memory: Winning a league championship in football.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My parents, my sister, Mr. Switzer, Coach Hodge, Coach Red, and my Grandpa Orville.

Lately, I have been reading: Diary of a Wimpy Kid (a classic)

My advice to parents: Thank you for supporting me and pushing me to be the best version of myself.

My biggest regret: Stressing over school instead of enjoying it.

Most embarrassing moment: Pooping my pants in the 2nd grade.

Next year I will be: Majoring in civil engineering

 

Reaghan McDaniel is the daughter of Jason and Amy McDaniel.

School activities & awards: Golf, Basketball, FFA, Business Professionals of America, Business Professionals of America officer, Pirate Advisory Committee, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Business Professionals of America State Qualifier, Business Professionals of America National Qualifier, Business Professionals of America Executive torch award, Business Professionals of America Diplomat torch award, 4 time Three Rivers Conference Player of the Year, Honda Breakfast x2 (Pre-Calc & Honors English), Evening of Excellence (3.5+ GPA), Senior Homecoming attendant

If I were principal for a day: I would let everyone leave school.

Favorite school memory: Sitting in the office and watching the Masters with Ms. Huffman while state testing was going on.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My Parents, Ms. Dunham, Ms. Huffman, Mrs. Shoe, Mrs. Harshbarger, Mrs. Wyan, and Mr. Phelps.

Lately, I have been reading: College golf scores.

My advice to parents: Always support your child, no matter what they dream to be, and set the bar high.

My biggest regret: Not playing basketball my junior and senior year.

Most embarrassing moment: Puking all over the computer in 1st grade.

Next year I will be: Attending North Greenville University, majoring in accounting while playing golf collegiately.
