According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, early Sunday morning, Robert Jenkins, 31, of Bellefontaine, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI).

Deputies stopped Jenkins at West Chillicothe and South Canby Street in Bellefontaine after seeing his white Ford F-150 cross over the center line twice while traveling south on North Main Street near Columbus Avenue.

As they spoke with Jenkins, deputies noticed several signs of intoxication.

He then failed several field sobriety tests and admitted to “pre-gaming” before driving.

Jenkins was then placed under arrest for OVI and taken to the Logan County Jail, where he provided a breath sample with a blood alcohol content of .203, more than twice the legal limit of .08.

Jenkins was cited for:

  • Operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Driving under a non-compliance suspension

He was issued a verbal warning for the marked lanes violation and is scheduled to appear in Bellefontaine Municipal Court, then released to a sober driver.
