Johns Avenue Water Disruption Planned

SHARE NOW

On Tuesday, May 21st, the Bellefontaine Water Department will temporarily disrupt the water service to all customers on Johns Avenue.

They will be working on a fire hydrant repair.

You can expect service to be turned off at 8:00 AM.

Residents may be without water for several hours.

Bellefontaine crews will work as diligently and quickly as possible.

Once the water has been turned off, all residents on Johns Avenue will be placed on a boil advisory.

This advisory means water should be boiled for at least 5 minutes before consumption.

Once the water is restored, water may be a brown, rusty color.

Please allow the water to run until the water runs clear.

The Water Department will collect samples for total coliform once the water is turned back on.

Once the samples are collected, results will be received within 24 hours.

Once the water is confirmed safe for consumption, we will again notify you that the boil water advisory has been lifted.

The city apologizes for this inconvenience and appreciates your cooperation and understanding.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Water Department at 937-593-6121.
