According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, a man is facing felony charges after being arrested on a drug trafficking warrant.
Detectives and their K9 Unit stopped a blue Chevrolet Impala on Wednesday afternoon, just before 3 p.m., after learning the driver had an active felony warrant.
The warrant was part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
Police say Tory Johnson, 47, had been identified as selling large amounts of crack cocaine in the City of Bellefontaine.
Johnson was taken into custody at the scene.
Police say Johnson allowed them to search the vehicle.
During the search, detectives found a digital scale and a small piece of crack cocaine in the center console.
Before being transported to jail, Johnson was asked if he had anything illegal on him.
He denied having any contraband.
However, during the booking process at the Logan County Jail, officers recovered nearly an ounce of crack cocaine hidden on Johnson’s person.
Johnson was lodged in jail on the original warrant and now faces additional charges, including possession of cocaine, a second-degree felony, and illegal conveyance into a detention facility, a third-degree felony.
