Sunday afternoon, officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the parking lot of the Community Market on East Sandusky Avenue.
A witness contacted dispatch about a suspected drunk driver.
Authorities made contact with Kenneth Jones of West Mansfield.
Jones smelled of alcohol and displayed several signs of intoxication.
Officers attempted to perform several field sobriety tests on Jones, but he failed and became belligerent.
Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department where he refused a breath test and requested a blood test only.
He was then transported to the Mary Rutan Hospital where the blood test could be conducted.
Once at the hospital, Jones again became belligerent and was combative when a nurse attempted to draw his blood.
Officers transported him to the Logan County Jail where he was released to a sober driver.
Jones was charged with OVI, OVI Refusal, Operation Under FRA Suspension, and No Operators License.
