After nearly 5 years of patrolling the streets of Washington Township, today K9 Bruno retires from the Washington Township Police Department.
K9 Bruno assisted in countless narcotics searches, apprehensions, and tracks throughout Logan and surrounding counties during his time with the police department.
As a result, a large amount of drugs and drug currency were seized.
K9 Bruno’s retirement is a direct effect of the passage of issue 2, which made recreational marijuana legal in Ohio.
The department planned to replace K9 Bruno with K9 Hondo to ensure the department would continue to have an operational K9 program.
Washington Township Chief of Police, Michael Thompson said, “We at the department will miss K9 Bruno and wish him nothing but the best in retirement! Bruno will live his retirement out with the Thompson family.”
