Thursday, K9 Tega, played a crucial role in a drug-related arrest in West Liberty.
The incident began when law enforcement observed a silver station wagon with dark window tint failing to stop at a stop sign.
The vehicle was pulled over, and K9 Tega was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff of the car.
As Tega methodically worked around the vehicle, she indicated the presence of narcotics by sitting at the passenger side door seam.
Following Tega’s alert, Sheriff Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle.
They discovered several empty pill bottles, with one containing a valid prescription in the name of the driver, Harley Nott, 46, of Urbana.
Additionally, a glass pipe and a clear plastic bag containing 18.26 grams of methamphetamine were found under the driver’s side floor mat.
Nott was arrested and transported to Logan County Jail, where he faces felony charges for possession of a Schedule II drug.
