West Liberty-Salem High School has announced its Seniors of the Month, Brady Kauffman and Geneva Estep.
Brady Kauffman is the son of Joel and Andrea Kauffman.
School Activities and Awards: Marching Band, Musical, Golf, Quick Recall, Jazz Band, Design Team, National Honor Society, and High Honors.
If I were principal for a day: I would get ice cream at lunch for high schoolers.
Favorite school memory: The Marching Band Disney trip during my sophomore year.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My older siblings, Paul and Lena.
Because: They have been an inspiration to me my entire life.
Lately, I have been reading: The Bible.
My advice to parents: Enjoy it while I am here, but don’t get too lonely when I am gone.
My biggest regret: Not joining the golf team my freshman year.
Next year I will be: Probably going to Grand Canyon University to study Computer Science with an emphasis in Big Data Analytics.
Geneva Estep is the daughter of Rachel and Shamus Estep.
School Activities and Awards: Varsity Girls Golf, Varsity Football and Basketball Cheer, Student Government/class officer, Link Crew, Choir, Show Choir, Drama Club, Musical, and National Honor Society.
If I were principal for a day: I would cancel school for seniors only.
Favorite school memory: Musical every year with my best friends—acting, dancing, and singing on stage, and having everyone come to support all the hard work we have put into the show.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My favorite teachers.
Because: They go beyond the basics of teaching and help you grow as a person. They encourage all students to shine and are part of the reason I want to become a teacher, so I can be that person for a future generation of students.
Lately, I have been reading: My lines for the musical and social media articles for my English paper.
My advice to parents: Always encourage your children to shine and do what they want to do, because they need your support to be confident.
My biggest regret: Running as a freshman and not golfing until I was a sophomore.
Next year I will be: Attending a four-year school to major in primary education and potentially golf.
