Early Sunday morning Bellefontaine Police tried to stop a black Honda CR-V that was driving down East Sandusky Avenue without headlights on.

The driver, later identified as Jeremy Honaker, 34, of Kenton, failed to stop and led police on a pursuit.

While traveling westbound in a 35-mph zone, Honaker’s vehicle reached speeds up to 60 mph.

The pursuit continued for half a mile, with the vehicle driving through several yards before stopping in front of a home.

When they approached the vehicle, officers noticed Honaker showed several signs of intoxication.

After many commands, he fell out of the vehicle and was handcuffed.

A search found open containers of alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle.

Honaker declined to take a breath test but agreed to provide a urine sample, which he later refused at the Logan County Jail.

Law enforcement found out that he also had outstanding felony warrants for assault from Marion County.

Honakers driver’s license was under an OVI suspension, and he was on probation for a previous OVI conviction in November 2024.

He was lodged in the Logan County Jail, and faces charges related to traffic violations, warrants, and impaired driving, with additional charges pending.
