A woman and two children were taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after a crash involving a car and a semi-truck at the intersection of U.S. Route 68 and State Route 273.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Ashley Young of Kenton failed to stop at the stop sign just before 6 p.m.

She drove her 2018 Hyundai Elantra into the path of a 2022 Volvo semi driven by 41-year-old Eric Thompson, also of Kenton.

Young was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital by Rushcreek EMS with suspected serious injuries.

Two children, ages 14 and 4, who were in the car with her were also taken to Mary Rutan with minor injuries by BMRT.

Thompson, the semi driver, was not hurt.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Young was cited for a stop sign violation.
