Kopus, Comer Spartan Seniors of the Month

Calvary Christian has named its October Seniors of the Month, Nora Kopus and Trenton Comer.

 

Nora Kopus is the daughter of Joe & Trina Kopus.

School Activities & Awards: ASB, FCA, swim at Ben Logan, soccer, running own Bible study

Favorite School Memory: Laughing so hard that I forgot to breathe with Natalie Frost, my sophomore year, while sitting in on her art class.

What is something you’re passionate about? (hobbies or interests): I am passionate about building relationships, mentoring, and guiding
younger students.

People who have been an inspiration to you: Mrs. Chapman, my parents, my grandpa (Pop Pop), and Mrs. LaBelle.

Bible verse that has had a strong impact on you: Psalm 46:10, it reminds me to just take a moment and just be in God’s presence. Psalm 46:10 reminds us to pause and trust in God’s plan, even when life feels overwhelming. It’s powerful because it brings peace and reassurance
that we are never alone.

Most impactful high school activity: ASB, which put me in difficult leadership positions that took me out of my comfort zone.

Current Plans for after you graduate: Go to college to get a mathematics teaching degree.

In what way has your time at Calvary Christian School helped shape your worldview? Calvary took me out of the postmodern world I was living in and led me to the truth.

Any advice for students entering high school? Embrace who you are in Christ and do not hide your faith from the world. Make a difference and be the light.
