On Thursday, Bellefontaine police responded to a call about 32-year-old Ronald Kosiek, who was acting strangely and causing damage at his home.
Upon arrival, officers went inside and found Koseik unconscious in a bedroom, but he quickly woke up.
He told officers he was experiencing stomach pain and denied any drug use.
It was later discovered that Kosiek was on probation, and when the Adult Parole Authority was contacted, they instructed officers to arrest him.
Kosiek was checked by medics at the scene and then placed under arrest.
Officers found a spoon with drug residue and a syringe cap in the bathroom near where Kosiek was found.
When he was in the police car, officers saw Kosiek pull something from his pants.
They found a syringe, and then he admitted to using heroin.
Kosiek was taken to the Logan County Jail and faces charges of illegal use and possession of drug abuse instruments.
