Renovations at Harmon Field were completed with the grand reopening on Saturday, which included the addition of the Kris Myers Recreation Complex.

Hundreds of community members gathered around noon to celebrate the milestone and the completion of the park’s extensive renovations.

The ceremony began with remarks from Park Superintendent Rick Reed, who spoke about the vision behind the project and the lasting impact of former park superintendent Kris Myers on the community.

A congratulatory message from Senator Bernie Moreno was then read, recognizing the significance of the new facility.

Mayor Crissman also addressed the crowd, reflecting on Harmon Park’s history as well as the planning and work that led to its transformation.

Following the remarks, attendees gathered at the new playground for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the opening of the recreation complex.

Children quickly filled the playground to enjoy the new amenities while Main Squeeze and Waldog Franks food trucks served refreshments throughout the celebration.

The park is now open to the public and will serve residents of all ages for years to come while honoring the legacy of a man who dedicated so much to the community.
