Thursday, just before 6 p.m., a Hilliard man was arrested for OVI after his car went off the road at the intersection of State Route 235 and Ash Street in Lakeview.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received several calls reporting a vehicle in a ditch.
Responding deputies were alerted that the driver appeared intoxicated and was attempting to leave the scene.
Deputies found a black 2012 Toyota Corolla in a ditch with several bystanders nearby.
One witness reported that the driver, later identified as 48-year-old Jeffrey Febus, had been at the Moose Lodge drinking alcoholic beverages and appeared to have difficulty walking before leaving.
Deputies noticed Febus showed several signs of impairment and said he admitted to drinking two beers, then later stated he had consumed three.
Febus refused field sobriety tests and was unsteady on his feet while deputies placed him under arrest.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to submit to a breath test.
Febus was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
