A Lakeview man who was arrested Monday night for domestic violence was taken into custody again Tuesday morning—this time for allegedly threatening the same woman and violating court-ordered bond conditions.
As previously reported, 64-year-old Gerald Hines was arrested Monday night after a fight with a woman at his home on Kiowa Path.
Deputies responded just before 10:00 p.m. after a caller reported a man and woman physically fighting in the yard.
Hines told deputies the two got into an argument that got out of hand.
He said he told the woman to leave, but when she refused, he forced her off the property.
The woman told deputies that Hines grabbed her by the arms and threw her.
She had visible cuts on her arms and a small cut on her foot.
She was evaluated by medics but declined transport to the hospital.
Hines was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the Logan County Jail.
Deputies noted he had no prior domestic violence convictions.
Then, less than 12 hours later, deputies were called to the same residence just before 11:00 AM Tuesday.
The woman reported that she had returned to retrieve her belongings with the help of others, when Hines unexpectedly showed up—despite a no-contact order being in place.
According to the woman, Hines became aggressive, yelled at her, and said he would kill her.
A witness inside the house confirmed hearing the threat.
Hines admitted he returned to the home and was yelling, but denied making threats.
When questioned about the no-contact order, he confirmed he was aware of it but said he came back because it was his home.
Deputies arrested Hines on a charge of aggravated menacing and consulted with the prosecutor about the bond violation.
