A Lakeview man was arrested for a felony gun charge Thursday evening around 9:40.

Dispatch advised all Logan County units to head to a home on Oak Street in Lakeview for a male shooting a firearm inside his residence. It was reported the male fired approximately six shots. Dispatch also stated the male may try to shoot at responding officers or attempt “suicide by cop.”

While attempting to locate the residence, someone broke out of the back window of a residence which was later confirmed to be at 156 North Oak Street.

Authorities observed someone moving the blinds of the window. A short time later, a male, later identified as Logan Fischer, 33, opened the window and yelled that no one was shooting inside the house.

Fischer was repeatedly asked to exit the residence. After several attempts, he finally exited the house.

While speaking with him, Fischer did not want authorities to go inside because they would see the holes and think they were gunshots.

He stated the gunshots the caller heard were from his television.

Deputies asked if he shot the ceiling or the side walls, and he replied they “went straight up.”

Fischer was told authorities needed to go inside the residence and retrieve the firearm.

When asked where the gun was, Fischer stated the firearm was under a mattress and loaded.

A Hi-Point 9mm carbine rifle was recovered.

Authorities observed a bullet hole in the door trim of a room across the hall. Another bullet hole was found in the window blinds of the bathroom at the north end of the house in the path of the hole from the door trim. There were also multiple bullet holes in the north wall of the living room.

Deputies went door to door in the area to make sure that no nearby residents were struck by a bullet. No one was reported injured.

Fischer was placed under arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.

At the jail, he almost lost his balance in the hallway and appeared to be intoxicated.

After Fischer was placed in a holding cell, he told deputies they were lucky he did not put holes in them like Swiss cheese, as he had planned.

Detectives from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant and returned to Fischer’s residence where they located a .25 caliber handgun inside a dresser in his bedroom where the rifle was discovered. Detectives also found several empty alcohol containers on top of the kitchen trash can.

Fischer has an extensive criminal history including a felony burglary charge in 2007, misdemeanor assault in July of 2013, criminal trespass in May of 2022, aggravated menacing in September of 2022, and domestic violence in December of 2022.

He was charged with improperly discharging firearms at or into habitation. It was requested that a charge of using weapons while intoxicated be considered.
