A Lakeview man got his 6th OVI Tuesday evening just after 7:30.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a reckless op complaint about a vehicle traveling south on State Route 117 that could not stay in the lane.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle and began to follow it.
The vehicle turned left onto County Road 37 and then right onto Route 33.
Authorities observed the driver travel over the white fog line multiple times and a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver, identified as William Keller, 47, told deputies he was on his way to a friend’s house.
Authorities observed Keller’s eyes to be red and glassy, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected in the vehicle.
Keller denied drinking.
He consented to field sobriety tests and failed.
Keller was placed under arrest for OVI and was transported to the Logan County Jail.
At the jail, he refused a breath test.
Keller was cited for OVI, OVI refusal, and marked lanes.
He had five prior OVI convictions in 1997, 2000, 2002, 2007, and 2015.
Keller was released to a sober driver.
The report was sent to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for their review.
