Thursday, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office reported that a Lakeview man was seriously injured over the weekend after crashing his motorcycle.
Deputies say that Sunday afternoon, 59-year-old James Kauffman was riding his 2004 Harley-Davidson southbound on State Route 708, just west of State Route 235, when he veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The crash caused Kauffman to be completely ejected from the motorcycle.
Law enforcement noted in the crash report that he was not wearing a helmet at the time.
Lakeview EMS responded to the scene and transported Kauffman to Lima Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
