The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling Zanesfield when a vehicle stopped just past the corporation limit westbound towards Bellefontaine Sunday morning around 1:00. The vehicle’s brake lights came on and off several times. Authorities noticed a female sitting on the berm of the roadway.
As deputies put on their emergency lights to check on the female, she got up and started to walk up a hill. The female stopped, turned around and stumbled, waved her hands, and appeared to be crying.
As deputies got out of the patrol car, the female opened the door and got into the backseat. She then hit her head, hands, and feet on different places inside the patrol car.
The teenager, identified as Angel Lazo, 19, appeared to be very intoxicated and had some scratches and blood on her. When asked how she got all the scratches on her, she said she “fell down a lot.” Lazo was very unsteady on her feet and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her.
While authorities were talking with Lazo, her boyfriend pulled up across the road. The male said that he and Lazo were at her sister’s house in Urbana. She had been drinking and started coming onto him a little stronger than he wanted. Lazo started getting mad at him and hit him. The boyfriend and Lazo were on their way home to Waynesfield, and Lazo hit him several times and tried to get out of the car while it was stopped and while it was moving several times. He said she jumped out of the car once and that is how she received the injuries.
Lazo was placed under arrest for underage consumption and public intoxication.
