Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month.

Elliett Lang is the daughter of Caleb and Kristen Lang of Bellefontaine.

School activities and awards: I play varsity golf, serve as dance captain for Les Fons, participate in musical, play/sing in band and choir, am on the Quiz Bowl team, participate in Model United Nations, am vice president of National Honor Society, and am the president of French Club/French National Honor Society. I was also recognized as an AP Merit Scholar with Distinction and have attended the Honda Academic Achievement Breakfast several times.

If I were principal for a day: I would order Flying Pepper for the school and start a student-run coffee shop in the lower cafe.

Favorite school memory: All of the musicals and Cabaret shows, specifically playing Katherine in Newsies. Also going to France with the French Club over the summer.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents, who are both incredibly hardworking and have taught me how to be independent and responsible.

Lately I’ve been reading: I’ve been re-reading Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

My advice to parents: Encourage your kids to get involved in something. Whether it’s a club, sport, or music, it’s the best way to make friends and enjoy high school. Let them try new things because they could find something new they love.

My biggest regret: My biggest regret is caring too much about other people’s opinions and being afraid to meet new people. Some of my best friends I didn’t meet until my junior year, so don’t be afraid to hang out with new people or feel like you have to keep the same friends all through high school.

Where I see myself in 5 years: I hope to be in grad school studying either constitutional law or screenwriting. I would also love to be traveling and studying abroad in France or Scotland, and own a mini golden dachshund.

Lorenz Henry is the son of Larry and Gingging Henry of Bellefontaine.

School activities and awards: Robotics Club (5 years), Tennis, National Honor Society, SkillsUSA, Spanish Club, Club MVP Award in Robotics (2023), Design Award at the 2024 VEX V5RC Ohio High School State Championship, Outstanding Academic Award in Industrial Technology, Honor Roll, Honda Academic Achievement Breakfast (World History, Chemistry, Technology), and Gold (1st Place) in Robotics & Automation Competition at the 2025 Ohio State SkillsUSA Conference.

If I were principal for a day: I would host a schoolwide dodgeball game.

Favorite school memory: When the Robotics Club hosted the Showdown at the Peak Robotics Competition in February 2025 at BHS. My team (Carnage) won the Build Award, and our sister team (Terminator) won the Tournament Champion.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents, family, all of my teachers in high school, and Micah Woolf (Robotics Coach).

Lately I’ve been reading: The Book of Jeremiah, my sociology textbook, and the most recent update to the VEX Robotics Competition Push Back Game Manual.

My advice to parents: Help your kids discover, develop, and refine their strengths so they are well-equipped for life.

My biggest regret: I wish I had joined the Robotics Club in my 6th- and 7th-grade years.

Where I see myself in 5 years: I see myself finishing up college and working in the mechanical engineering industry.
