The Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) met on December 7th, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting began with the introduction of two new employees who have joined the Service and Support Administration Department as SSAs. Julia Stefanac began on November 14th and Roni Burden began on December 4th. LCBDD is happy to have them join the agency.

LCBDD is continuing to see an increase in people needing services and is currently serving 33 more people compared to November 2022.

LCBDD discussed ARPA Grants that are available through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. LCBDD is applied in the areas of supported connections and accessible communities in hopes of increasing funding for things such as respite, music therapy, and adaptive/sensory-related activities in the community. LCBDD is also applying for funding for an ADA-compliant mobile restroom facility.

The Community Recreation and Special Olympics Coordinators have been busy with many activities. The Aktion Club has been helping the community by picking up trash along State Route 47. They are also having a Poinsettia Sale and donating $1 per poinsettia to help support an Indian Lake student’s Washington D.C. trip. Some of the Logan County Braves bowling team will be attending the Special Olympics National Unified Bowling Championship which will be held between February 27 and March 1, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be fundraisers coming up to help support the bowlers attending the tournament.

The LCBDD Annual Report has been completed and is available on our website at www.logancbdd.org.
