The Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) held its monthly board meeting late last week in Bellefontaine.
The meeting began with the swearing-in of new board member John Godwin, administered by Notary Linda Baker.
Board members approved several significant contracts and personnel changes aimed at supporting and expanding developmental disability services throughout Logan County.
Highlights include:
- Preschool education contracts with local school districts
- A room and board contract with CRSI
- Early intervention evaluations and assessments contract with WestCon
- Multiple agreements with the Midwest Regional ESC (MRESC) for the 2025–2026 school year
The Board also awarded a $154,070 contract to Link Construction of Bellefontaine to complete a kitchen renovation project.
Two positions were formally eliminated as part of internal restructuring: a 9-month administrative assistant position and the Therapy Services Coordinator role.
These responsibilities will now be covered through a newly created Preschool Manager position and a separate Occupational Therapist role.
Superintendent Krista Oldiges provided a major update on staff relocation efforts.
As of early July, key administrative staff—including the Superintendent, Executive Assistant, Business Director, Fiscal Assistant, and HR Director—have moved into The Discovery Center, located at 1973 State Route 47 West.
The Service and Support Administration Department will complete its move following the completion of the kitchen renovation, expected by the end of November 2025.
This consolidation of services into one facility became possible after the Midwest Educational Service Center and the Family and Children First Council vacated their previous spaces within the building.
Oldiges noted the move will result in improved collaboration among departments and reduce operational costs by allowing the board to close its current office facility.
LCBDD board meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at 1973 State Route 47 West in Bellefontaine.
The next scheduled meeting is set for August 7, 2025.
