LCBDD welcomes new board member; Honors outgoing advocate

The Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) recently held its monthly board meeting at the LCBDD office in Bellefontaine. Ahead of the meeting, Liz Rose and Becky Robison presented the Board’s annual required training on Intake and Eligibility.

During the meeting, the Board recognized Valerie Robb for her 12 years of dedicated service. Robb has been a strong advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities, helping guide LCBDD’s mission and initiatives to better support the community. Chloe Grisez was sworn in as a new board member, filling the vacancy left by Kelly Paxton.

The Board reviewed and approved recent financials. The proposed 2026 budget will be presented to the Logan County Commissioners soon. LCBDD also received a grant from the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to replace the entrance doors at The Discovery Center.

Superintendent Krista Oldiges shared the 2024 Annual Report with the Board. In response to a shortage of SNAP benefits, staff donated non-perishable items to establish a small food pantry supporting individuals currently receiving services.

Staci Nichols, HR Director, announced that applications are now being accepted for the Community Engagement Coordinator position. Brison Allmon recently began work as the new Maintenance Supervisor.

The Early Intervention Department recently screened five children at a free developmental screening. The Discovery Center Preschool also held a Halloween-themed trick-or-treat event for its students.

The Board approved several agreements, including a Facilities Use Agreement with the YMCA of Central Ohio, a contract with P.T. Services Rehabilitation, Inc. for therapy services, and a cost-saving agreement with Verizon. They also approved the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Special Education Model Policy and Procedure.

Additional approvals included the 2026 Administrative Calendar, the LCBDD Board Meeting Schedule for 2026, and revisions to the job descriptions for Superintendent, Custodian-Driver, and Community Engagement Coordinator.
