The Bellefontaine Police Department K9 Unit made a felony drug arrest Friday evening.

Officers observed a male at the Love’s Travel Stop to be Damon Lensman, 46, at large.

A warrant check was run and authorities discovered Lensman had a statewide felony warrant through the Adult Parole Authority.

Lensman left the gas station and a traffic stop was conducted on Sloan Boulevard and Township Road 55.

He was asked to step out of his vehicle and complied.

When asked, Lensman stated he did not have anything illegal on him. He was then asked when he had last used something illegal and he stated he had used cocaine three days ago.

Lensman was asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. He at first stated no, but then admitted to having cocaine in the vehicle near the center console.

A broken pipe was found on him, and officers located a plastic cigarette wrapper that contained crack cocaine in the vehicle during a probable cause search.

He was charged with felony possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a parole violation (felony warrant).

The cocaine was field tested and the results were positive.
