Good morning and welcome to Listen Up!

Listen up! is a weekly public affairs show where I talk about topics here in our county, and beyond.

This week I caught up with Russ Hogue and chatted about Logan County Angels:

Logan County Angels is a compassionate initiative dedicated to providing financial support to families who have lost a pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade student who was enrolled in a Logan County, Ohio, school at the time of their passing. The Logan County Angels fund aims to alleviate the financial burden associated with funeral expenses.

Their main purpose is to provide financial assistance to cover funeral expenses for children who have passed. Our purpose also goes beyond financial support. Logan County Angels strives to create a network of empathy and solidarity within our Logan County community. By coming together during times of sorrow, we hope to offer comfort, understanding, and practical assistance to families grappling with the unimaginable loss of a young student.

Families are eligible for financial support when they have experienced the loss of a student enrolled in Pre-K through 12th grade and are attending Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan Schools, Calvary Christian, Discovery Center, Indian Lake Schools, Riverside, and West Liberty Salem School District.

This program has an oversight committee which includes a point person from each school district, to ensure accountability and fair distribution of funds.

United Way of Logan County serves as the fiscal agent for Logan County Angels. All donations on this site are tax-deductible and processed through United Way of Logan County and transactions will appear on your bank statement as “United Way of Logan County.”
