Since its launch in July 2021, the Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley (CSSMV) RideConnect program has been bridging transportation gaps in local communities.

As the program marks its third anniversary, it is reaching out for more volunteer drivers to help expand its services and continue to make a positive impact on residents’ lives.

Heather Robison talks about the need for volunteers and how you can connect with the program if you have transportation needs:

Catholic Social Services offers several programs including:

  • Logan County Mobility Manager – Tam Blakely to determine if there are any -transportation resources available visit HERE or call 937-539-3351

RideConnect has been crucial in providing reliable transportation for individuals needing access to essential services like medical appointments, grocery shopping, and community events.

It’s been especially beneficial for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those without personal vehicles.

The program relies on volunteers to offer rides to those in need, and CSSMV is looking for more people to help.

Volunteering with RideConnect provides an opportunity to directly improve the lives of community members, enhancing their independence and well-being.

Volunteers can choose driving opportunities that fit their schedule, whether it’s a few hours a week or a few days a month.

CSSMV provides all necessary training and support, including screenings, orientation, and ongoing assistance.

Volunteers also receive mileage reimbursement for approved trips.

The program values volunteers and offers a chance to build meaningful connections while contributing to the community.

For those interested in volunteering, more information is available on the CSSMV website HERE.
