Live United Radiothon raises funds for Logan County

The Live United Radiothon returned Friday morning on Mix 98.3 WPKO, uniting local organizations and the Logan County community to raise funds for programs that support individuals and families in need.

The event was hosted by Becca McGillis, Director of United Way of Logan County, and featured representatives from a variety of local organizations providing essential services.

Guests included members from Peak of Hope Homeless Shelter, Harwood Initiative, Lutheran Community Service, Discovery Riders, and TCN/Soteria House Domestic Violence Shelter.

Lutheran Community Services’ Kim Collum talked about how United Way helps provide food for those in need:

“These organizations rely on community support to meet the needs of the county’s most vulnerable populations,” said McGillis. “The Radiothon is a crucial way for our community to come together and make a real difference.”

Darlene Roll from GRACE (Greater Riverside Area Community Encouragers) said United Way funds help their mission:

So far this year, the event so far raised $7,135, which is lower than in previous years.

McGillis says community members can still support the cause:

Donations raised through the Radiothon help organizations address challenges such as homelessness, domestic violence, food insecurity, and other critical needs in Logan County.
