The popular Livingston’s Lafayette Christmas Light Show is officially up and running in Urbana, bringing holiday cheer to the neighborhood for its sixth season at the Lafayette Avenue location.
Four neighboring homes once again team up to create a synchronized Christmas light display set to music — and the show is 100% free and open to the public at 428 Lafayette Ave.
Visitors can tune their car radios to 95.1 FM to enjoy the synchronized music.
Each full show runs approximately 1 hour and 8 minutes every day from now until Christmas, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring no repeated songs.
Because of the extended runtime, start times naturally fall just after the hour.
Guests who want to catch the opening number should plan to arrive at one of the following times: 6:00, 7:08, 8:16, 9:24.
2025 Playlist Highlights Include: Mariah Carey, TobyMac, Pentatonix, Straight No Chaser, Burl Ives, Paul McCartney, Brenda Lee, and even a holiday-themed OSU “Hang On Sloopy” remix.
To help keep the event enjoyable for everyone, visitors are asked to follow a few simple guidelines:
Do not block driveways
Stay out of yards and displays
Keep radio volumes low
Follow traffic laws
Turn headlights off when parked
Be respectful to neighbors and other guests
Organizers encourage families to take photos, enjoy the music, and make lasting Christmas memories.
After Christmas Day, nightly shows will end as teardown begins, weather permitting.
Livingston’s Lafayette Christmas Light Show has become a holiday tradition in Urbana, and organizers hope the community will help spread the word that the lights are on and shining once again.
