Monday, the Stanley family had a once-in-a-lifetime experience, attending the White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington, D.C.

The family was invited by Sandra Lausecker, owner of Outwood Farms in Raymond, Ohio, and Secretary of the American Egg Board, which sponsors the annual event.

Lausecker is a close family friend.

Before the egg roll, the family toured several historic sites, including Gettysburg, Arlington National Cemetery, the U.S. Capitol, and the Library of Congress.

Upon arriving at the White House Monday morning, they were able to see Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt reading in the Rose Garden and even spotted FBI Director Cash Patel and Dr. Oz.

The family’s children, 11-year-old Lily and 10-year-old Harrison, both students at Trinity Lutheran School in Marysville, were excited to participate.

The family had to complete a special background check weeks in advance to gain approval for the event.

President Trump gave remarks and thanked egg farmers who donated 40,000 hard-boiled eggs for the celebration.

Harrison said his favorite part was seeing the President up close, while Lily enjoyed helping her younger cousins and exploring the various vendors.

Attendees also received swag bags filled with commemorative goodies, including wooden eggs, egg dye kits, and other keepsakes.

Parents Hayden and Ann expressed gratitude for the opportunity, “…Grateful we had the opportunity to experience this with our children. In a season where our country can feel divided, it was a powerful reminder of the history of our nation. With the 250th birthday of the United States approaching, it meant even more to see it through our kids’ eyes.”

Around 50,000 children and families attended the event, split into four waves.

The weather was sunny and perfect for the festivities.

The White House Easter Egg Roll tradition began in 1878 under President Rutherford B. Hayes, and this year’s theme celebrated the 250th anniversary of the United States.
