The Bellefontaine City Council met in a regular session meeting Tuesday night.
Law Director, Josh Stolly, informed the council that Prosecutor Crystal Welsh has resigned. Welsh has given 30 days notice of her resignation.

The council had a 3rd reading on Ordinance 23-21- An ordinance authorizing and directing the city auditor to appropriate funds for a $5,000 contribution to the Luthern Community Services for its new food pantry project and declaring an emergency.
A 2nd reading for Ordinance 23-23- An ordinance changing the zoning classification of 929 and 933 North Main Street from R-3, multi-family residence district, to B-3, general business district, amending the zoning map, was passed with a 100% vote.
Parks Superintendent, Kris Myers, presented to the council, “A New Era for Bellefontaine Parks.” The Master Plan was presented to the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation Board recently. The presentation culminated months of work and was very well received.
Fire Chief Andy Fissel reported to the council that his staff was undergoing lots of training that helps with their ongoing education. The department has used several of the buildings that the city has been tearing down for training exercises.
Interim Police Chief, Chris Marlow said that his office is fully staffed. Recently the office received its final shipment of body cameras for officers. Once the cameras are set up, all officers will be equipped with a camera.
The next Bellefontaine City Council meeting is set for May 23rd at 7:30 PM in Council Chambers.
