Cassano’s of Russells Point closed their dining room at the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, moving to a carryout option only.

Due to staffing issues, and not being able to fill the dining room staffing, the restaurant opened its dining room this last Saturday after more than 3 years.

Owner Ron Kimmel said, “We were not willing to sacrifice our service and quality to open our dining room if we were understaffed. Through Covid we were able to remain a carryout-only business, and that worked for us. We are happy to get back to normal and serve our community. We are thankful for the patronage while we navigated through the pandemic.”

Kimmel went on to explain that there were many staffing factors that had to be considered when opening the dining room. Kimmel is known for employing students and working around their school schedules, including being flexible with sports and other extracurricular activities.

Kimmel stated that “If you have consistency, people will come back and continue to be lifelong customers.” Cassano’s is run on simplicity and consistency. They have not removed or added anything to their menu and Kimmel believes that’s what kept his business open for over 40 years.
