Bellefontaine High School students and staff rolled up their sleeves and donated blood this week.
The BHS DARE Club coordinated a blood drive with Versiti (formerly Solvita and the Community Blood Center) on Tuesday.
There was a blood drive in the auxiliary gym from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
36 units of blood were collected, which will save 108 lives.
There were 26 first-time donors.
BHS DARE Club Advisor Matt Gallaway was impressed with the giving spirit.
Gallaway said, “Because of your support, we were able to help save lives and make a real difference in our community. A special thanks to our student volunteers, donors, and staff who helped with organization and supervision throughout the day. We’re proud to see our school come together in the spirit of service and compassion.”
The next blood drive at BHS is scheduled for March 12th.
