Local students were honored on a new Wall of Fame at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken in Bellefontaine Tuesday evening.
The wall hosts up to six local Bellefontaine City School students and Calvary Christian students each quarter of the school year.
Each school was asked to select one student and provide a summary of why the student was chosen.
Their photo and the summary now hang in the restaurant on the Wall of Fame.
They were each selected for their leadership, selfless service to others, and dedication to making the community better.
Listed below are the students and what their schools had to say about why they were selected:
- Brix Brown- BES is happy to award second-grader Brix Brown for the Lee’s Wall of Fame Award. Brix is the perfect example of a quiet leader. He is always helpful, often making deliveries to the office with a sweet smile. He goes out of his way to hold open doors and share a polite word. He shows respect to his peers, his teachers, and all building staff. Brix is a true leader, modeling the values we try
hard to teach our youngest Chieftains. Brix shines everywhere he goes and is very respected at BES. Congratulations, Brix, and thank you for always being a Chieftain Leader! - Ava Oppy- She is a student who takes her education seriously and consistently gives her best every day! Her positive attitude is contagious! Ava demonstrates leadership qualities throughout the day here at BMS by being friendly, being present, being self-aware, being conscientious, and being mindful of those around her. She is the perfect choice for this honor.
- Alecka Board- Alecka has grown up so much. She has worked hard to follow directions the first time, and to be a positive learner in our school. Her smile is contagious. When she comes to the office she always uses manners. She is willing to help others and applies herself to get better. Such a great kid!
- Conor Evans- Bellefontaine High School is proud to nominate Conor Evans for the Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken Wall of Fame. Conor, a junior, is a pleasant and hardworking young man in and out of the classroom. Conor exhibits Chieftain expectations (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be a Learner) in all that he does. Conor is a quiet leader on football and wrestling teams, as well as in the classroom. Conor
brings a special energy into everything that he does. He helps people to be their best. This school year Conor has had perfect attendance and has earned the Honor Roll for the first quarter. The staff at BHS is proud to call him a Chieftain! - Abigail Reinhard- Not only does Abigail excel in all of her Calvary and CCP classes, but she is a model of a true servant-leader. She leads her peers by example, striving to be more and more like Christ every day through her words and her actions. Abigail sacrifices personal leisure time to serve others at church and her community through programs like summer Children of God camp and Gull Lake Ministries, and she serves the school through ASB as the worship director, mentoring/tutoring, aiding, and more! She exemplifies the meaning of a Calvary student.
- Oliver Jarvis- Oliver is a very conscientious young man! He is quick to be a friend to others, he routinely holds the door open for his lunch group each day. He is very active in his church, youth soccer, and junior high basketball. He has a sense of justice and he wants others to do what is right, as he does. If we have a student come to shadow at our school we will have them walk around with Oliver.
