Students from area high schools shared powerful and personal messages Monday during the Rotary Four-Way Test Speech Contest at Bellefontaine High School.

Five students participated in the contest, each delivering a speech centered on Rotary’s Four-Way Test and how its principles apply to leadership, service, and real-life situations.

The speeches highlighted honesty, fairness, respect, and making choices that benefit others.

Judges used the Rotary District 6670 Four-Way Test Speech Contest Judging Form to score each presentation.

Students were evaluated on their understanding of the Four-Way Test, originality, organization, and delivery, as well as poise, voice, and overall audience engagement.

Rotary’s Four-Way Test asks four simple questions:

  • Is it the truth?
  • Is it fair to everyone involved?
  • Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  • Will it benefit everyone involved?
