Local Students Receive Scholarships

The Logan County Electric Cooperative hosted its first scholarship banquet, Thursday night. The cooperative awarded 15 scholarships to area students for a total of $17,000.

Scholarship recipients are:

  • Regan Ross, Indian Lake, $3,000
  • Heidi Hoffman, Indian Lake, $2,000
  • Makenna Smith, West Liberty-Salem, $1,500
  • Helena Burns, Calvary, $1,500
  • Kendra Kennedy, Ben Logan, $1,500
  • Creek Wischmeyer, Indian Lake, $1,500
  • Stephanie Altstaetter, Indian Lake, $250
  • Sophia Adelsberger, Bellefontaine, $250
  • Maggie Davis, West Liberty-Salem, $250
  • Lily Jenkins, Indian Lake, $250
  • Emma King, Indian Lake,$250

Guest speaker, Ella King was a 2015 scholarship recipient and a graduate of Riverside High School. In high school, Ella excelled academically and agriculturally. Ella graduated with a 4.0 GPA; she holds school track records; she qualified to judge international dairy contests, and much more. Since graduating Ella attended The Ohio State University, majoring in animal bioscience. She is currently employed by Danone as Producer Relations Manager and lives in rural Logan County on her family’s dairy farm with her husband and children.
