Bellefontaine Police responded to the alley behind East Columbus Avenue Wednesday night around 8:30 pm after dispatch received a report of individuals trying to break into vehicles.
The complainants, Luke Snyder and Alex Krause said they chased two individuals and were eventually able to catch one.
The other suspect continued fleeing the area.
Snyder and Krause said they received a notification on their security cameras at their home on East Chillicothe Avenue advising it detected motion.
When they observed the camera footage, they saw two individuals messing with their vehicle.
They said the two were unable to gain access to their vehicle.
Snyder and Krause then began walking the alley behind their residence and came to South Park Street, where they saw the two individuals inside another vehicle, with the dome lights on.
Police located the second individual at the nearby Speedway.
The two were identified as teenagers and were transported to the Central Ohio Youth Center (COYC).
Suspect 1 is held on a charge of theft and a charge of vehicle trespass.
Suspect 2 is held on a charge of theft, vehicle trespass, and persistent disorderly conduct.
The guardians of both individuals were notified of the incident.
