Young anglers from across the area gathered at Fox Island on Saturday, July 19, 2025, for a day of fishing, fun, and community connection.
The event was hosted by the Washington Township Police Department in partnership with the Logan County Family & Children First Council.
A total of 39 children, along with numerous parents and grandparents, participated in the event.
Officers from the police department were on hand to offer guidance, cheer on the kids, and assist with removing fish from the lines.
To make the day even more special, the Logan County Family & Children First Council provided free fishing poles, school supplies, and helpful resource information from organizations across the county.
The Washington Township Police Officers Association contributed to the festivities with free food and door prizes.
Additional support came from local businesses, including Gene’s Marine Bait and Tackle, which donated gift cards, and The Depot, which supplied the bait.
The event aimed to promote positive interactions between families and law enforcement while giving kids a chance to enjoy the great outdoors—and maybe even land a big one.
