The Logan County Agricultural Society met in a regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday evening and got to meet new 4-H educator Allison Rison.
Rison, a second-generation 4-H Educator hails from Tennessee. Moving to Ohio in January, Rison worked for the Miami County 4-H program. Rison is the third 4-H Educator in the county in the last several years. Fair Board Secretary Kris Copenhaver talks about Rison’s first impression:
Eva Carney, President of the Logan County Junior Fair Board, asked to participate in “Fight the Hunger, Stock the Trailer.” The event is sponsored by Farm Credit and the Jr. Fair Board would receive a $500 donation from Farm Credit for participating. The event would run the week of the fair and Jr. Fair participants would collect non-perishable food from fairgoers. All food items would be donated to local food pantries. The event is a contest between several participating county fairs across Ohio. The event was unanimously approved. More details will be provided closer to the fair.
Little details and final judges for events are being scheduled for this year’s Logan County Fair. Electricians, cleaning crews, pot-a-johns, dumpsters, hand wash stations, and more are secured.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office will provide security for this year’s event, with a cost increase. $5,500 was approved for the week, including two extra deputies for Friday and Saturday’s additional beer garden located at the grandstands.
Entertainment details are expected to be released yet this week for the Logan County Fair.
