The Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) continues to provide opportunities for children of all abilities to play together with the donation of inclusive and accessible musical equipment to West Liberty Lions Park.

Nancy McGuire, Lions Club Park Board Chair stated, “The activity panels have been installed and almost immediately children were using them. They have been installed so all children can access them easily.”

LCBDD appreciates the conscientious effort the members of the West Liberty Lions Club made to install the equipment.

The accessible Melody metallophone, Butterfly gong, and Flower chimes are the first pieces of equipment welcoming people to the park.

The inclusive effort to place the musical equipment around the concrete pad the Lion sits upon connects to the shelter house.

This location will allow both children and the adults supporting the children to move easily from concrete to concrete providing a smooth barrier-free location for play.

LCBDD’s Community Inclusion Goal began with the creation of the Come Play at the Peak Park in Bellefontaine and was followed by the Come Play at the Lake Park on Fox Island.

LCBDD wants to support any group interested in creating playgrounds in Logan County that are accessible to all children of all abilities.
