On Tuesday afternoon, the Logan County Commissioners presented a flag flown above the Logan County Courthouse in September to Air Force Veteran Mr. Bill “Popeye” Myers.
Myers grew up in Lakeview, Ohio. and graduated from Stokes Local in 1959.
He served as an airman in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 and was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Myers participated in the Air Force Reserves, stationed in England until 1966.
The presentation recognized Mr. Myers’ service and contributions to the community.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of honoring local veterans and their sacrifices for the country.
The Commissioners expressed gratitude for all veterans and emphasized their ongoing commitment to supporting those who have served.
