Tuesday, Logan County Commissioners Michael Yoder, Greg Fitzpatrick, and Joe Antram issued a proclamation recognizing March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Logan County.

Krista Oldiges, Superintendent of the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD), accepted the proclamation on behalf of the board.

Also present for the event were Roni Cook-Burden, LCBDD Service and Support Administrator, as well as Vivian Stover and her mother, Missy, and Helena Newland with her mother, Marcia.

Superintendent Oldiges expressed her enthusiasm for the month, stating, “In March, we are excited to continue to raise awareness about inclusion. Thanks to our partnerships with local organizations, schools, and the community, we’ve made significant progress in the field of developmental disabilities. Our aim is to keep breaking down barriers and emphasize the crucial message that every perspective, including those of individuals with disabilities, is important and valued.”

The Logan County Board of DD provides lifelong services to individuals with developmental disabilities, starting with Early Intervention services for children under 3 years of age and preschool programs at the Discovery Center.

The Service and Support Administration Department continues to offer services for children aged 3 and older, as well as adults.
