Logan County Democrats hosted a Meet & Greet for Attorney General candidate John J. Kulewicz on Saturday, March 21.

A Columbus resident, Kulewicz has practiced law for more than 44 years, arguing and winning cases before both the Ohio Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.

He is a published author and currently serves on the Upper Arlington City Council.

Kulewicz is a graduate of The Ohio State University and Yale Law School, where he served as editor of the Yale Law Review.

When asked what five words best describe his desire to serve as Attorney General, Kulewicz said,

“I care about your paycheck.”

If elected, he plans to focus on job availability, fair pay, a market free of fraud and deception, and fair banking policies.

He also expressed concern over recent energy rate increases, stating that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) should “be held to the fire” for recent, extreme rate increases.

Kulewicz highlighted the rapid growth of data centers in Ohio, saying he will advocate for “study, planning, and slowing their rate of growth in the state.”

Kulewicz addressed Ohio’s broader challenges, stating the state government is adrift in “chaos, corruption, and disorder” and noting that the Ohio economy ranks 45th in the nation, with median family income at only 88% of the national average.

He expressed concern over recent corruption scandals and said he plans to investigate JobsOhio, which he claims spends “millions and millions of taxpayer dollars with no oversight,” leaving Ohio behind in job growth compared to national averages.

He emphasized voter priorities, saying,

“Voters are not looking for a party…they are looking for answers,” and pledged to offer “an aggressive new approach.” Kulewicz added that Ohio has “paid a price for having a one-party state government.”

Kulewicz has received endorsements from the United Auto Workers, Greater Cincinnati Building & Construction Trades, Communication Workers of America District 4, and the Ohio Democratic Party.
