Veterans and their families were honored Sunday during the Logan County Friendly Senior Center’s annual Veterans Luncheon, a tradition recognizing local men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The event also celebrates the annual Logan County Veteran of the Year, recognizing George A. Pequignot Jr. as the 2026 recipient, although he was unfortunately unable to attend.

The Luncheon started with remarks from Shelley Kneece, Executive Director and Outreach Coordinator for the Logan County Veteran Service Office, who addressed the crowd and led a prayer before food was served.

Attendees were catered to with barbecued meats, beans, potato salad, and other delicious dishes.

Following the meal, the Top of Ohio Twirl Team entertained the crowd with a patriotic performance that included both synchronized group routines and individual performances by the twirlers to applause from all those in attendance.

The team is based in Bellefontaine and is welcome to all ages.

Friends and family alike bonded for hours in what was a great showing of patriotism and service given back to those who have served us.
