Logan County gears up for Easter festivities

Logan County is gearing up for a joyful and meaningful Easter season with a variety of events planned throughout the week.

From solemn worship services to fun-filled egg hunts — and even a helicopter egg drop — there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Middleburg Community Church is hosting a Drive-Thru Prayer, open daily from 2 to 7 PM through Friday.

The church, located at 11824 State Route 287 in East Liberty, invites all to stop by for a moment of quiet reflection and prayer.

On Thursday, Downtown Bellefontaine hosts its Eggstravaganza After Dark from 5 to 8 PM, an adults-only event for those 21 and older.

Ticket holders can collect eggs filled with treats, prizes, exclusive deals, and raffle tickets while visiting local downtown businesses.

Check-in begins at 5 PM at Bella Vino, 112 South Main Street, Suite 2.

Also on Thursday, the Middleburg Community Church will host a Community Meal at 6 PM, followed by a Maundy Thursday service at 7 PM.

On Friday, the Zanesfield United Methodist Church will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 6 to 7 PM at 2880 Main Street in Zanesfield.

All ages are welcome, rain or shine. Be sure to bring a camera or phone for photos with the Easter Bunny and enjoy fire trucks on-site from Tri-Valley Fire & EMS.

That evening at 7 PM, Hopewell Church, located at 3746 US 68 North in Bellefontaine, will hold a solemn Good Friday observance, welcoming all to reflect on the journey to the resurrection.

Also at 7 PM, Middleburg Community Church will hold its Good Friday service, continuing its full week of Easter observances.

Saturday brings a full day of Easter fun across the county.

The festivities begin at 9:30 AM when gates open at Indian Lake High School’s Practice Field for the Easter Egg Drop.

At 10:15 AM, a helicopter will drop 11,000 stuffed eggs across the field, and children will be able to hunt in age-appropriate zones.

Attendees can enjoy free coffee, chances to win three giveaway baskets, and more.

The event is free and open to the public.

At 12:00 PM, the Bellefontaine Exchange Club hosts its annual Easter Candy Hunt at Mary Rutan Park, for children ages 12 and under.

The event is located west of the restrooms.

From 12:30 to 1:15 PM, the Russells Point Community Easter Egg Hunt takes place at the Russells Point Municipal Building, 433 State Route 708.

This event is held in partnership with the Russells Point Police Department and local churches, including Indian Lake Community Church, The Lighthouse, Church of God, Quest Community Church, St. Mary of the Woods, and Galilee Lutheran Church.

At 1:00 PM, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office hosts its annual egg hunt on the lawn outside the Sheriff’s Office at 284 South County Road 32 in Bellefontaine.

Later that afternoon at 2:00 PM, families can head to American Legion Post #173, located at 120 Colton Avenue in Bellefontaine, for another Easter Egg Hunt open to all children ages 12 and under.

The event runs until 3 PM and is open to the public.

From 4:00 to 6:00 PM, families are invited to Piatt Castle Mac-A-Cheek for its Historical Easter Customs event.

Guests will enjoy an egg hunt, egg rolling, and traditional games, along with Easter card-making and treats.

On Easter Sunday, Middleburg Community Church invites the community to a morning of celebration.

Easter Breakfast will begin at 8:30 AM, followed by Easter Egg Hunts at 9:00 AM and a Worship Celebration at 9:30 AM.
