Logan County Horse Ambassadors Selected

On Saturday, June 28, Logan County 4-H selected their 2025-2026 Junior and Senior Horse Ambassadors during the LoCo Open Horse Show held at the Logan County Fairgrounds. Kayla Smith, the 2024-2025 Senior Horse Ambassador, was on hand to transfer her title to the next set of leaders.

Emmery Howell, an incoming freshman of Worthington Kilbourne, daughter of Shana Howell and Dave Teynor of Columbus, Ohio, was selected as the Junior Ambassador. In addition to showing her horse, Bo, as a 6-year member of Mac-O-Chee Mustangs, Emmery enjoys her rabbit, Huey, and cooking.

For the honor of Senior Ambassador, Sadie Staats, a recent Benjamin Logan graduate and daughter of Doug and Karen Staats, was chosen. She is 18 years old and a 9-year member of the Manes n’ Reins 4-H club. She plans to attend Capital University in the fall to major in Music Education. You can watch her show her pony, Fiat, in Ranch, English, Reining, and Jumping classes during the upcoming Logan County Fair.

To be selected for the Ambassador position, the applicants completed an interview process as well as competed in Showmanship and Horsemanship classes with judging according to 4-H Equine standards.
