The Logan County Jail has received a perfect compliance rating following its 2025 annual inspection conducted by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC).

According to a letter dated October 3rd, 2025,  issued to Sheriff Randall Dodds from State Jail Inspector Stephen Holland, the inspection took place on September 30, 2025, and reviewed multiple areas of jail operations, including security, housing, sanitation, medical and mental health services, visitation, food service, recreation, and staff training.

The inspection found the Logan County Jail in full compliance with all 179 standards evaluated — including 53 essential and 126 important standards. The report noted zero deficiencies.

On the date of inspection, the jail housed 65 inmates with a total capacity of 136.

The facility remains within the state’s recommended population limits.

In his letter, Inspector Holland commended Sheriff Dodds and his staff for their continued commitment to maintaining compliance with Ohio’s Minimum Standards for Jails, writing that the jail “was found to be in compliance with the onsite jail inspection for the 2025 calendar year.”

The ODRC recognized the Logan County Sheriff’s Office for its efforts to maintain safe, sanitary, and well-managed operations within the full-service jail located at 284 County Road 32 South in Bellefontaine.

This isn’t the first time the jail has received perfect compliance; 2025 marks the third consecutive year.

Jail administrator Tim Klingelhofer said in a statement:

“Our jail inspection is a measure of our daily operations. It measures how well we take care of our staff, inmates, and facility. Our goal is to achieve 100% every year. As a team, we run a first-class operation and are second to none. The citizens of Logan County deserve our very best efforts; that’s what we give every day.”
