Logan County residents will now find Logan County Job and Family Services operating from its new, permanent location after a move completed earlier this week, now located at 1851 State Route 47 West, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.

While visitors won’t see polished signage just yet, only hand-made signs, along with some lingering dust and dirt from ongoing finishing touches, officials say the transition is complete and already improving how the agency serves the community.

The long-awaited new home is located in a county-owned building that also houses RTC Industries.

The department is now occupying the former RTC office space, a move that will save taxpayers thousands of dollars by utilizing existing county property.

Director Cynthia Heffner said renovations to prepare the space were completed in just a few short weeks.

She described the process as smooth overall, with crews working quickly to get the facility ready despite a few minor hiccups.

The new location also brings multiple services under one roof, including the WIC Program and OhioMeansJobs, creating what officials describe as a convenient “one-stop shop” for residents.

Heffner noted one drawback to the new site is the lack of sidewalks for patrons traveling to the building.

She said that’s an issue that could see solutions in the future.

Despite that concern, she emphasized several advantages, including ample parking and close proximity to key county services such as Children’s Services, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Heffner says the upgraded space and centralized services will allow Job and Family Services to better meet the needs of Logan County residents, offering improved accessibility and a more efficient experience for both clients and staff.
