As winter temperatures approach, Logan County is prepared to help residents facing dangerously cold conditions.

The county’s 2025–2026 Winter Overnight Emergency Warming Shelter will be activated when temperatures are expected to drop below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

Coordinated by the Logan County Housing Innovation Workgroup, the shelter will offer overnight refuge for those in need.

Intake will be conducted from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Bellefontaine First Church of God, Youth Center Entrance (Door 9), located at 1000 East Brown Avenue, Bellefontaine.

The shelter will close at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Residents with questions or needing further information can contact the shelter at 937-210-9003.

This initiative aims to provide a safe, warm space for community members during extreme winter conditions, helping to prevent exposure-related health risks.
